Before leaving your car for several days or weeks, we want to share a few important tips for Detroit Metro long term parking. Whether this is your first time or hundredth time, we think you will benefit from these expert tips:
Remember Where You Parked. If you are headed on an extended trip, there is a good chance you might forget where you parked when you return! Take a picture of the row and section where you parked your car before you depart. It also would be helpful to use your smartphone map to place a pin at your car's location.
Don’t Leave Anything Valuable in the Car. When leaving your car for a long period of time, theft and vandalism are common risk factors. Avoid the potential for theft by removing all valuables from your car before heading to the airport. If you must leave a valuable item in your car, then make sure it is hidden from sight. Double-check that your car is locked before heading to the terminal.
Book in Advance. Don't wait until the last minute to book a parking spot if you plan to leave your car for an extended period of time. When you book in advance, you will have more time to research all available options and find a great discount.
Check Parking Availability. The official parking options are not available to reserve in advance, so it's important to check the availability of parking spaces before you arrive. You don't want to waste time searching for a spot before your flight. Call the 24-hour DTW parking hotline for up-to-date information regarding parking capacity at (800) 642-1978. This way, you will know exactly which parking lots to avoid and you can proceed directly to the parking lot with the most availability.
