How Long Can I Park at Newark Airport?

Newark Airport permits parking up to 30 days. Any vehicle parked over 30 days will be towed at the owner’s expense. If you need to park for a longer period of time, then contact ABM the day of your arrival at 973 961-6421 or 973 961-6422. They will ask for your name, license plate number, and the estimated length of your stay.

Long Term Parking Options at EWR

The Newark Airport has two main options for long term parking. Economy Parking Lot 6 is the cheapest EWR parking option, but it requires a shuttle. Daily Parking P4 is a bit more expensive, but it’s conveniently located along the AirTrain track. Before you leave home, check the Newark Airport parking rates to decide the best option for you. You can also check the capacity of the parking lots in real-time on the airport website, so you know if there is availability at your preferred parking lot.

Economy Parking Lot P6

Economy Lot 6 is the best long term parking Newark Airport offers. It is located 3 miles from the Newark Liberty Airport off of Brewster Road with courtesy shuttles that run non-stop between P6 and Terminals A, B, and C. The shuttles operate 24 hours per day and depart from the lot every 10 minutes. The parking area is uncovered, paved, and well-lit. It is secured by a perimeter fence and a gated entrance. There are green signs indicating the section and row of your vehicle so that you can easily find your car when you return.

Daily Parking Garage P4

The daily parking garage (P4) offers covered parking with a short AirTrain ride to all terminals. From 5:00am-12:00am, the AirTrain runs every 3 minutes. Between 12:00-5:00am, the AirTrain runs every fifteen minutes. The AirTrain is free between the airline terminals, parking lots, and rental car facilities.

There are five parking levels at P4 with covered parking and the top rooftop level has uncovered parking. The height clearance of the garage is 11’ 6”. Oversized vehicles are not permitted and all cars must be able to fit into a single space.

EV Charging Stations

If you are parking for an extended period of time, then you may want to charge your electric car in your absence. The Newark Airport provides 13 EV Chargepoint stations on the Ground Level of Lot P4. Access the stations with an RFID enabled credit card or a Chargepoint access card. Electricity is provided free of charge. Level I chargers offer slow, “trickle charging” at 115V, which is capable of charging your car in 12-24 hours. Level II chargers have a 240V connection and can charge your car in 4-6 hours.

Long Term Parking Tips

When parking for a longer period of time, there are more things to consider than when parking for just a few days. Do your research before you leave home, so that you can have confidence that you are parking at a secure, reliable, and convenient parking facility at a decent price. The following factors are very important when comparing long term parking near Newark Airport.

Covered Parking: Weather elements and extreme temperatures have a negative effect on the condition of your car if left uncovered for an extended period of time. Opt for a covered parking option if you plan to park for more than one week.

Security Measures: Basic security features such as fences, barriers, and camera surveillance offer protection against vandalism and theft. If anything should happen to your car while you are gone, it’s reassuring to know that CCTV cameras and/or security guards will catch the culprit red-handed.

Price: Parking for multiple days or weeks can easily become overwhelmingly expensive. Check the rates and ask about hidden fees before choosing to park. Use our platform to compare prices so you can find an excellent discount.

Prices are subject to change. This article was updated in February 2024. Please note that it is not possible to book at any of the official Newark Airport parking lots on our platform at this moment.
